Integrating CD-images (not floppy images) into UBCD

#1 Post by kaweka » Wed Nov 29, 2006 2:37 pm

I have some diagnostic / recovery tools in iso images.
These are CD images, not floppy images.
How are they to be integrated into UBCD ?

Furthermore I have user manuals in PDF
which are unfortunately not included in appropriate image.
How can I extend UBCD with some documents ?
They should just be present on UBCD
to be able to open them if UBCD running under windows,
no automatics is needed.

There is no straightforward method to boot ISO images from CDShell/UBCD.

You can try "diskemu image.iso", but that only works for certain types of ISO images.

For Linux-based ISOs, there are other methods for booting them. Just do a forum search.

To add PDF documents, just following the customization instructions. Add a folder (eg. "docs") to the root tree, copy the PDFs over, then build the ISO using mkisofs.

To be enough precise: these are images of bootable CDs.

What about using BCDW to boot ISOs?

This topic interesst me.

What about ISO in UBCD today ? I can run an ISO image or not ? Or can I convert ISO files to valide IMG files (I have try to take it, but for it, I convert my ISO file in NRG file with nero. So i change the extension .nrg to .img, it's a valid change, because I can mount this image with .img extension in my virtual device, et I can read it, but when I add it in my personal UBCD, he doesn't run...).

I have try with diskemu, but he make an error... invalid syntax !

So, il search an efficient method !

Thanks for this very efficient and good CD ! He help me very well ! :P

PS : an other question : What about the next version ? 3.4 version became old ! No, it's not important... if you have no time I understand ;) !

Thanks for this response...

But, my ISO file is about 160 Mb... I can't boot this ISO file directly with CDShell ? I search in the CDShell Help !

Edit : I have found my error... My ISO file was more than 8 character lenght... Oups...

So, I succesfull load my 160 Mb ISO file with the diskemu command !

Thanks for help !
