I just created the ubcd and was wondering what i should start using on the cd first.

My computer is having problems booting up. I tried to repair windows xp pro and now am stuck in a rebooting cycle and cannot boot into safe mode. I know what my problem is: cdr4_xp.sys (roxio problem) caused by removing Roxio from my computer. I have followed directions on changing the bad roxio file from cdr4_xp.sys to cdr4_xp.old and now am having this problem when i try to repair xp.

when i went to reboot i get a files needed screen that pops up and says "the file 'asms' on windows xp professional service pack 2 cd is needed". The default location was globalroot\cdrom0\I386. " Not sure why because the OEM xp disk version 2002 with service pack 2 is in the drive that is booting. How do I solve this problem and try to get windows to boot into normal mode?

thanks

I am not sure specifically how you can resolve this issue, but if renaming cdr4_xp.old back to cdr4_xp.sys helps, you can try NTFS4DOS under "Filesystem Tools 2/2".

question???
