Unable to add Partition Magic V8 rescue disks to Ultimate

Dear all,

I guess it i sme but I am unable to add Partition Magic V8 rescue disks to Ultimate Boot CD despite I am following the Tutorial. This is quite confusing.
My computer freezes after starting & acessing the image and the last entries are:
INT 13 08:Success, count = 0, BPT= 0000:0000
old: int13 = e72a5731 int15= f000f859
new:int13 = 9ec00008 int15= 9ec00290
Loading boot sector... booting...

This is getting me crazy... The entries in custom.scn are:
if ($lastKey == key[f1]); then memdisk /custom/PQMagic8.img

Tried to create images from disk & via virtual floppy, nothing worked.

BTW, I have gor the same issue with Norton Ghost.

I was also wondering how I could change the keymap before loading the image.

Dear all,

I tried again with Winimage and new source disks and it seems it worked.

Can't understand why it did not work from the start.

I have created the disks also using winimage, following the tutorial, and it still does not work. It will start booting Partition Magic, but it gives me the error:

Cannot create batch file Abort Retry Ignore Fail

then it exits. How do I make it work?

memdisk does not work so I am using BCDW and it will work, but does not create a ramdrive. How do I create a ramdrive with BCDW?

BTW, I have just created a script file to automate the process of creating a 2.88MB Partition Magic rescue disk image.

You can download it from the PM8 tutorial page.

Let me know if it works.

Hi,
I followed your tutorial to include PM8 in UBCD40.
Problem is that I don't have the boot/menus/custom.scn you're talking about.
I found a custom.scn under \website\tutorials\convert. I edited it and made the require changes, but it doesn't work. when I boot with the CD I don't have anything in the custom section.
What should I do? Should I create the folders you mentionned in the boot section or is there another way of doing it on the version 4.0?

Check out the new PM8 integration tutorial, which has been updated for UBCD V4.0.

The one you are referring to is an older tutorial for UBCD V3.4.

I looked at that tutorial, but I can't download the pm8make.zip file (error 404). I tried several times!
