How to integrate "total commander"?

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I discovered Ultimate Boot CD by looking for a powerfull bootalbe CD-Rom with many utilities and features. Most important is, that we can customize the CD and add other applications.

My question is:

Is it possible to add "total commander" to the bootable CD?

I've tried out Ulimate Boot CD, and everything was very good, my system booted from this CD-Rom. But I cannot find any tool to see the files on my harddisks, nor any drives identified as USB-devices. I only see the directory called a: with a lot of subdirectories. Where can I find c:, or d: or the USB-Stick?

Is there any tool on the CD to make it possible to browse The files on my harddisks ( c: and g: ) and move them to a USB-Stick?

I need a tool to copy data (mp3-music) from a folder from the harddisk
to a USB-MP3-Player. Unfortunately windows has no chanche to install any USB-device. But I hope Ultimate Boot CD can identify USB-Sticks etc.

Could somebody describe me how to do this (integrate "total commander")?
Or is there any other tool to copy files? I am sorry, I am absolutely not skilled by doing programming. This is the reason why I do not unserstand the example describing how to integrate any "floppy-image". I have no tool to create a floppy-image, also. I do not have any floppy-drive (it is defect).

Any help would be very nice.

Total Commander is a Windows app, while UBCD is primary DOS-based.

You can try booting FreeDOS, try to mount your USB stick, then type "vc" at the command prompt.

There are other file managers on UBCD under Filesystem Tools/File Tools, such as DOS Navigator, or File Maven, but I think "vc" (Volkov Commander) will do the job just as well.

This is really helpful, I will gigve it a try, just to find out
if there is a way to get the USB-device working or if the
USB-hubs on my mainboard are completely destroyed.

What does it mean: to mount my USB stick?
If it is not too much work, could someone explain me how
to do this? Would be very nice.

Of course I tried to start UBCD, and I have had a look upon
the applications, such as VC. But I didn't find a way to see the
directories of my harddisks. (c: and d: ...) Is it possible to have
access to them with UBCD?

oO ... then get a board with additionnal ports.

Well it depends on which filesystem they are. I guess they must be NTFS ... then run NFTSDOS or NTFS4DOS.
And of course, the disks have to be detected by the BIOS...

You need to enable the USB module when DOS boots. If the USB module recognizes your USB controller, it will mount your USB stick and give it a drive letter so that you can copy files to it.
