Can't say I know what's wrong. Anyone else encountered this issue?

Well, is your computer connected to a network with DHCP? Or connected to a network at all?
If not, I find that it can take a really long time, aka freeze, when it comes to that part.

Error 8:

I've been doing some testing with this and this is what I have so far...

When I boot with a floppy or CD I get the message on 1 server, but when I try it on another server it works fine. Both servers have the same NIC's, but the one that gets the Error 8: has an extra NIC in it. The NIC is currently disabled in the BIOS, but it still throws the error 8: This tells me that it's a hardware NIC specific thing... I think?? BIOS or some other hardware issue??

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I'm using different versions of files than what you're using for your boot disk.
