I guess this is both a complaint and a request.
As I'm using UBCD 4.11, I all of a sudden notice that PowerMax 4.09 and 4.22 no longer are to be found. Hmmmm.
So, I check the version change list, and nope, no reference that says "removed." Oh, wait, there is a note that SeaTools for DOS has been added .... and that it replaces PowerMax.
So, I find I need to search added programs to also find out what has been removed.
And who in the world thinks that SeaTools replaces all the proven functions that the PowerMax programs perform. It doesn't, it has a totally different interface, it reports errors on MaxStor drives with different codes, etc., etc. Not really the best move IMO.
I going to try to add them back as custom programs - hope that works.
Thanks for listening.

I didn't know myself until seeing your post and looking. Seagate has recently purchased maxtor and their normal support webpage and link for powermax redirects you do download seagate's tools instead. So in their defence here @ ubcd It seems to be a forced change.
ps. you can download powermax @ http://www.majorgeeks.com/Maxtor_Powermax_d1386.html
works perfectly for me so you shouldn't have any problems

Victor, I had requested 4.09 since it was the last version that tested all brands of hard disks. Since then I've tried the new Seagate utility (which is on UBCD4+) and they're very good, although I'm not sure if they work for all brands. So adding just 4.22 sounds good, although I'm not sure what it has that the new Seagate tools are missing.
