PC Restarts itself on boot

I had a virus problem few months back which forced the PC to restart itself, by using safe mode i could at least run AVG scan to remove the virus. Now this is something else, the PC doesn't even logon to windows, it restarts just before loading the Desktop or Windows Logon screen.. I tried safe mode, last working configuration, nothing helps am kinda stuck. Can a virus do this? Or is it hardware (Graphics card maybe?). I now have UBCD and have scanned the PC using few available tools, no viruses were found. I'm not sure what to do in UBCD cause am not sure what's the cause of this problem. Any suggestions?

I'm having the exact same problem! And I have stuff on my computer that's due. I really need to get it to stop being pissy and let me on, so I can at least back my stuff up...
