I have a copy of my xp os disk, don't think it has the auto load wizard. I have a partitioned HDD and tried one of the UBCD DOS Boot Disk programs. They get me to a dos type screen but I don't know how to proceed. The only time I've done this before was with a floppy. Can I then remove the UBCD from the cd tray and put in the xp disk? Is there a step by step list anywhere?

I don't understand your question
what do you want exactly ?
you want to install WinXP under a Freedos session ?
or you want to integrate the WinXP CD into UBCD ?
if you want to install WinXP under freedos :
- start freedos with CD driver
- put the WinXP CD
- type:
X: ( X: is the CD-ROM letter )
then
cd i386
and :
winnt.exe
the XP installation will start
