Hi All,
I had a major problem with my hard drive and got the dreaded "NTLDR not found" error upon boot up tonight. I d/l UBCD and read through the forums and used TESTDISK based on others advice.
My problem is simple (I think). When I use TESTDISK, my drive still won't boot up, but it does allow me to look through the different directories and such on the drive. I can see all the directories and the subsequent files that I need to salvage. All I need to do is get some of those files off the drive, then I can reformat it.
I don't really know what it would be called, but does anyone know of an "editor" or something that will allow me to look through the contents of the drive and copy my files off?
BTW, I booted from a spare drive and my computer recogizes my bad drive but it won't allow me to open or explore it. It tells me the drive is not formatted. I tried to run CHKDSK on it, and it says there are some unrecoverable errors.
