Fprot antivirus not scanning hdd

Ok Im a new user to the Ultimate Boot CD, in an attempt to scan a suspect laptop I downloaded and booted off the UBCD. Neither Fprot nor McAfee will scan anyhting other than the T: and U:. I figure I am missing something but are not sure where to find the answer. Is there some pre-req that should do before the cd will access the hard drive?
