HDD problems, boot and general performance

Since the last two weeks my hdd randomly doesnt want to boot, as simple as that, sometimes it boots to the OS and sometimes not '^^

When it boots it takes a lot of time until it reaches the point when the computer can start working (with the desktop and all the startup programs loaded).

And when playing some games where constantly new information is loaded (like world of warcraft) the games hang up frequently.

I think it is because there are general problems with the hdd, what program can i run to diagnostic and resolve problems?

Check out the tools under Hard Disk Tools, Diagnostic Tools.

If you know the HDD manufacturer, you can select the corresponding tool directly.

Otherwise, try one of the generic ones eg. Salvation HDD Scan & Repair.
